Coconut Oil Review – and Giveaway!

I am SUPER excited to tell you about my favorite Coconut Oil from Tropical Traditions. It is hands-down the best-tasting coconut oil I have tried (and I’ve tried a lot of brands). Besides their coconut oil TASTING super yummy, I also really like their “story” and how their coconut oil is made.

Plus, Tropical Traditions has also offered to give one of my lucky readers a FREE 32oz Gold Label Organic Coconut Oil! I’ll show you how to enter in a minute, but for now I’d like to tell you why I simply LOVE this coconut oil.

I first encountered the Tropical Traditions brand through the buying club I was a part of while living in Washington. It was the first coconut oil I had ever tried – maybe that’s why I am in love with it so much??? Anyway, since then I have tasted and tried MANY other brands but I keep coming back to the Gold Label Coconut Oil from Tropical Traditions.

I love the Tropical Traditions story. They were the FIRST company to bring coconut oil to the U.S. Plus, they are USDA certified organic. Here’s a quick video to share where they source their coconut oil and why it’s special:

I appreciate that their coconut oil is NOT mass-produced by machines like most other coconut oils are (they DO have a couple options in their line that ARE produced by centrifuge, but their premier brands are NOT). They are made by hand by small-scale family producers.

My FAVORITE part of the video is where they mention that they had a professor at the University of the Philippines ย test their coconut oil against other coconut oil brands that are also produced there. He found that the Gold Label coconut oil had TWICE the antioxidant levels than other coconut oils on the market!

In my opinion, this coconut oil is more smooth and has a more pleasant, mild coconut taste than others I have tried. I love taking spoonfuls of it (helps to give me that pick-me-up I sometimes need during the day), putting it in my oatmeal, using it to saute’ things and to made homemade stovetop popcorn. If you aren’t familiar with the MANY potential benefits of coconut oil, hop on over to my post called Coconut Series – Part 2: Coconut Oilย to read more. And, once again, please remember NOT to take any of the advice or ideas I share on here as medical advice – please save that for a qualified healthcare practitioner!

Tropical Traditions also has great videos on their site as well as a page on “How to Use Coconut Oil: There are Hundreds of Uses for Coconut Oil!” that you can check out.

Also, in addition to the giveaway below, Tropical Traditions is having a SALE on their 1-gallon size of Gold Label Coconut Oil for THIS WEEK ONLY!!!ย This is the kind I use – and a gallon lasts me a good while:

I have tried other brands of coconut oil, some I like – some are just okay, but from what I keep hearing, I would really love to try Tropical Traditions and do some baking with it!! Have already tried their coconut flour, and makes great snacks/ treats.

I haven’t tried TT coconut oil yet because of the price. I currently use Nutiva, but would love to try TT in order to compare to see if the price difference is really worth it.

Hi Melissa….you’ve never steered me wrong…so this must be the best coconut oil! I have been popping corn in olive oil & that’s so yummy that my grandsons like it better than Mommy’s buttered (& that’s saying alot!). so would like to try it in coconut oil.

Dona – Thanks for entering! One note on olive oil – while it IS a super healthy oil, it’s chemical make-up means we should enjoy it uncooked (in salad dressings, etc) or gently heated. When it gets above a certain temp (sorry, can’t remember what that temp is) it can oxidize and release free radicals. Coconut oil is a great high-temp oil (such as needed for popping corn!) and the taste is SO yummy in popcorn!!!! Hope you get to try some!

Irina – I would call Tropical Traditions and let them know. Doesn’t sound right to me – it should be a nice creamy white color with a very light coconut/sweet smell. Their customer service is wonderful so I am sure they will replace it if needed!
